MS PowerPoint 2010 can now edit video - important as so much video is now available
Click the video on your slide.
On the playback tab, under video tools, click "trim video".
You can check video progression on the still image, click the start point and move it to the right to trim from the beginning,
or enter a start time to begin the video at a specific time and check video duration or click the end point and move it left to trim from the end and enter an end time.
Click "OK" to save the your version of the video.
